Scarf AA02

Scarf AA02Anuradha says, “I like to believe that, like goddess Anuradha, I too bestow happiness and good fortune to everyone through my craft. We all understand the language of art. And I feel I speak this language of art, in all its forms, fluently.

When someone approaches me with a craft idea, I start working on it as soon as I can. I enjoy the journey of transforming ideas into reality. And when I see the receiver’s eyes light up with joy, I derive immense joy and satisfaction.

It all started when I was 5 years old. I learnt knitting, crocheting and the art of designing clothes from my mother and aunts. Over time, in the race of life, I packed away all my crafting skills in the back of my mind.

Sometimes, when I was free or felt like creating something new, I worked on a project or two. I couldn’t spare a lot of time for my craft though. And at that time, my creations were most certainly not the best-looking ones. But I felt good just nurturing my passion for some time at least.

I could finally pursue my art full-time when I was expecting my son. I had decided to be a stay-at-home mom. And during my pregnancy, with not much to do, knitting and crochet became my go-to stress buster.

One fine day, I realized that I just could not stop knitting or crocheting. I first started crafting things for my family. And then created gifts for a few friends too.

By now, I knew I had no control over my obsession to create things. So, I decided to accept custom orders. I posted my creations on Instagram and other social media platforms. And felt very good when I got custom orders. The fruits of my efforts are evident in my pictures. And today, if you ask me, I will confidently say, “I will most certainly be knitting till my dying day…”
